Outreach

Montezuma Elementary

This is the third year we have worked with a group of American Sign Language students at Montezuma Elementary in Stockton, once a week during lunch time recess.  Last year we had four girls; this year we have 7 girls in grades K - 8.  Diana Vo, the Outreach Leader working with these girls, has two siblings herself who are deaf and was really eager to use her sign language skills to bring Girl Scouting to these young women. Girls earned Art To Wear badges and especially enjoyed making duct tape wallets.

What do girls say about their Girl Scout Outreach Program?

"It is a great program! We got to be more open with each other as well as work together as a unit instead of individually. I love it!"

-Monterey Trail high School

What do staff say about their Girl Scout Outreach Program?

"My favorite thing about my job is working with the girls, developing relationships with the girls and seeing them making positive choices."

-Amanda Roy, Outreach Leader
