Troop Leadership

All troop leaders/advisors are required by council policy to take Leadership Essentials training within three months after appointment to the position. Every volunteer working with girls in troops is encouraged to complete training so that the entire leadership team is ready to work together to provide a great experience for girls. Troop Leadership training consists of three parts which are taken in this order: Girl Scouts 101, Welcome Session, and Leadership Essentials.

Leadership Training: Do It YOUR Way!

Leadership Essentials, and Girl Scout Cadette/Senior/Ambassador Advisor are currently available in the classroom setting, and also as online courses.

The Welcome session is a required one-hour session given by your service unit orientation specialist and takes place within your service unit or local neighborhood.
