Board of Directors

The Board consists of 17-21 volunteers who serve 3 year terms (officers are 2 year terms) and are elected at the annual meeting by the Representative Assembly.  The Board of Directors develops, manages, and maintains Girl Scouting within the terms of the Girl Scout charter.

Responsibilities

Board Committees

The Board of Directors has established the committees listed below, three of which are specified in the Bylaws.
Board Development - responsible for assembling a single slate of nominees for officers of the council, and nominees for members-at-large of the Board of Directors to fill vacancies (refer to GSHCC Bylaws, Article IV, Section 3).
Board Representative – Responsible for managing the functions of the Representative Assembly and serving as a liaison between the Board of Directors and Representatives. (refer to GSHCC Bylaws, Article IV, Section 4).
Executive Committee – The Officers of the Board constitute the Executive Committee who have the powers of the Board of Directors in the interim between Board meetings, exceptions to this are listed in the Bylaws (refer to GSHCC Bylaws, Article IV, Section 2).
Finance– A standing committee established by the Board to oversee the financial status of the council.
Fund Development – Primary function is to search for additional funding sources for the Council.
Property Implementation – A standing committee established by the Board to oversee management of Council properties (offices, camps, etc.) as well as searching for future properties for acquisition when necessary.
