Who Does Outreach Serve?

We recognize the importance of reaching out to girls and families, of making programs affordable, and of providing positive role models for the young women we serve.

The majority of our outreach troops meet in Sacramento, Yolo, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Merced counties.

We collaborate with school districts, public housing agencies and other local civic organizations to serve girls where they are.

Girl Scouts Heart of Central California has brought troops to girls who are:

  • attending low-income and under performing schools

  • living in subsidized or temporary housing

  • pregnant or parenting teens

  • incarcerated in county juvenile detention facilities

  • daughters of migrant workers

"Parents shared how much their children looked forward to coming to Girl Scouts. The ladies are very sweet, kind and respectful to all. We love having them come to our site."
