Girl Scout Older Girl Events

Hey Girls!

Fun, excitement and challenge – all this and more are waiting just for you! Our events this Winter and Spring will help you to discover new talents, move along on a Journey, earn Interest Projects, have fun and make new friends with your sister Girl Scouts. We know you like to plan your whole year, so we are listing all the events we know about through July for you and you can sign up for all of them now. In 2011 you can have Celebrate Girltopia, try Zumba, or learn to protect yourself by Taking Charge. Cadettes have an opportunity to learn Step dancing in a new series.  Maybe you’d like to spend the night with your sister Girl Scouts and learn something new at one of our many overnight options. How about helping Mother Earth by planting a tree or two? You can make a difference and our events can help to show you the way, so talk to your parents, your troop leader and your troop to find the events that might be a great fit for you. Just look around and if you want more information then email us at program@girlscoutshcc.org.

Award classes and Older Girl Trainings
Like to plan out your whole year? All of our Girl Scout Gold and Girl Scout Silver award class dates and locations are listed on our Web site. This year the award class is entitled Take Action Award Training and will focus on the new Journey prerequisites. These classes and many others, such as Program Aide trainings, trip planning, backpacking, lifeguarding and Prepare 2B Ready can also be found for the whole year. Girls sign up for these classes individually through the “Older Girl Training Calendar” section of E Council. 

Program Aide Opportunities
Sharing your Girl Scout knowledge and helping younger girls can be fun and rewarding. Being a Program Aide is a chance to use and develop your leadership skills. In order for our events to succeed, we need you! Please remember Program Aides must have completed Program Aide Core and at least one Area of Concentration Training to help at events. Program Aides must also be at least 2 years older than event participants.
