TODAY ONLY ONE IN FIVE GIRLS BELIEVES SHE HAS WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A LEADER, AND NEARLY 40 PERCENT OF GIRLS REPORT THEY HAVE BEEN PUT DOWN BY PEERS WHEN THEY TRY TO LEAD.

To put it bluntly: this just isn't cool.

As the premier leadership development organization for girls, Girl Scouts is the group to change these statistics. Studies show that girls participating in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience are more likely to develop into mature adults who succeed academically, pursue higher education and career aspirations, develop healthy behaviors and reinvest themselves in the community.

WE KNOW IT TAKES COURAGE AND SUPPORT TO LEAD EFFECTIVELY. AND WE'VE SEEN THE DIFFERENCE WE CAN MAKE WHEN WE LEAD BOLDLY. STUDIES SHOW THAT COMPANIES WITH MORE FEMALE EXECUTIVES CONSISTENTLY OUTPERFORM THEIR INDUSTRY PEERS.

So, what is holding us back?

Women represent half (48%) of the workforce but only 3% of Fortune 500 CEO's. Across 10 industries, women hold just 18% of leadership positions.

Girl Scouts lead the way:

75% of professional women of distinction were once Girl Scouts. 80% of female business owners are Girl Scout alumnae.

When you donate to Girl Scouts Heart of Central California (GSHCC) via the Girl Investment, you are bringing the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls of all backgrounds in 18 counties. Think local leadership activities, outreach programs in low-income neighborhoods, financial assistance, camp opportunities and so much more.

CAMP IN STYLE. (YES, IT'S POSSIBLE.)

Enjoy three days in the beautiful Sierra Nevada for a unique (and fun) camp experience filled with empowering workshops plus your favorite camp activities like arts and crafts, hiking and horses. End the weekend with a s'mores soiree in which you'll reimagine the traditional treat invented by Girl Scouts.
