Ways to Volunteer

Whether you have a few hours, a few weeks, or a few months to give, volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible, fun and meaningful!

You’ll be their cheerleader, guide, and mentor, helping them develop essential life skills and confidence that will last a lifetime. Imagine the excitement, the memories made, and the impact—this is what you’ll share as a Girl Scout volunteer.

To prepare our future generation of female leaders, I'd like to...
Help at the Troop level

Volunteers at the Troop level guide girls to empower themselves, by offering hands on, girl-led, girl-centered learning in STEM, the outdoors, entrepreneurship and opportunities to develop invaluable life skills.

  • Troop Leader/Co-Leader
Work with a group of girls and mentor them as they make new friends and develop connections that will last a lifetime.
  • Troop Helper
Assist with driving, activity planning, snacks, money management, or other tasks necessary to keep the troop running oh-so-smoothly from week to week.  A great way for Family and Friends to be involved!
  • Cookie Volunteers
Coordinate the annual cookie sale at the troop level. Set up cookie booths, manage inventory and money, and then watch the girls light up when they earn the rewards for being the best cookie sellers ever!

Help at the Service Unit level

Volunteers at the Service Unit level encourage, support and organize local Girl Scout troops/groups by providing direct support and service to Girl Scout members, including girls, leaders and volunteers, as well as parents and caregivers. The service unit engages their local community to encourage the overall mission of the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California.

  • Service Unit Team Members
Each Service Unit Team is comprised of various positions to support the goals and needs of their community. The size of an SU team and the jobs performed vary from service unit to service unit.
