Basic Troop Camp Certification Process
Every Girl Scout camping trip requires at least one adult who is basic troop camp certified. This is a two-part process led by GSHCC trainers and staff which includes the following components:
Part 1: GS
Camping 101. An in-person course focusing on risk management,
program and trip planning in preparation for outdoor experiences with
Girl Scouts. 3 Hours.
Part 2: Hands-On Skill Building. Four options are available for this portion. Your trainer in GS Camping 101 will help you pick the option that best suits your availability and needs. (Note: GS Camping 101 is a prerequisite to this section, it must be completed before part 2.)
