Troop Start-Up Assistance
Each year, Girl Scouts Heart of Central California assists new troops in specific areas of our Council where participation in our signature leadership development program is low, and where the primary barrier to participation is financial. We select communities with families that have not historically participated in Girl Scouts due to culture and/or lack of awareness of the inclusive and accessible nature of our programs to their daughters.
Girl Scouts sets new volunteer leaders on a path toward future success by covering the start-up costs associated with forming new troops (membership, uniforms, program guides) and by providing extra staff support (in the form of phone calls, assistance with the initial meetings, help navigating Girl Scouts resources, etc.).
