Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend

GSLSPW is a nation-wide event where Girl Scouts all over the US are visiting their local state parks on the same weekend. GSHCC partners with select state parks to host unique Girl Scout opportunities, such as interpretive hikes, kayaking, bird watching, and more. Troops and families can also visit a local park on their own. So save the date and find a State Park near you.

Girl Scout Expo

The Girl Scout Expo is the perfect event to help both girls and their adults learn more about being a Girl Scout. Kick-off the new member year by enjoying a fun day of hands-on activities that will help your troop plan their year. This event hosts several community partner booths that will help your Girl Scout discover her passions for the Outdoors, STEM, Entrepreneurship, and Life Skills.

Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting generally occurs the first Saturday in February. This event is an opportunity to look back at the membership year through annual financial information, highlights from the GSHCC Board of Directors, adult volunteer recognitions, and celebrate our council's accomplishments.

The event is free and open to all members of GSHCC. Only members of the Representative Assembly have the ability to vote.

Mega Drop

Mega Drop is a large-scale cookie distribution event that happens every February. At this event members and non-members come together with GSHCC staff to support troops and distribute Girl Scout cookies. Please note not all troops attend this event if their service holds a Mini Drop.

Get Outside Challenge

The Get Outside Challenge is a month-long event in April. It is self-paced so Girl Scouts and adults can enjoy the outdoors in a way that feels most comfortable to them.

Outdoor Adventure Campout (OAC)

Every April, Girl Scouts and their adults can hone their outdoor and camping skills, earn outdoor badges, and learn about nature & conservation efforts. It is a great introduction for participants who want to camp with their girls and enjoy several outdoor activities by registering for a trail that may include: Horseback riding, paddling, target sports, and natural sciences.

Capitol Bridging

Capitol Bridging is an inspiring event in May where Girl Scouts can reflect on their past year and bridge to the next level in Girl Scouting. All ages of Girl Scouts will get to celebrate their achievements together and invite their family and friends to join in the festivities. Girl Scouts will connect with their sister Girl Scouts by walking across the Tower Bridge together and taking a moment to look back on their year as a Girl Scout and set goals for their future.

Award Ceremonies

The Girl Scout Gold Award, Girl Scout Silver Award, and the GSHCC Rose Award are among the greatest achievements a Girl Scout can earn. This ceremony, held in June, celebrates the accomplishments of our local Girl Scout Awardees.

Day at the Capitol

Day at the Capitol is the kick-off to a summer of leadership and growth! Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassador Girl Scouts will spend the day networking with professional women in their community and hear from speakers focused on advocacy and public policy in California. Throughout the event, they will collaborate with their fellow Girl Scouts to create change in their community. Girls will learn valuable leadership skills, civic engagement and be inspired to put their passion towards earning their Highest Awards!

Vol Con

The Big Volunteer Conference (Vol Con), is a day-long event, in August, filled with workshops, inspiring speakers, and opportunities to network with other Girl Scout Volunteers and GSHCC staff
