Julie has 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, having served in a variety of program delivery, development, fundraising, volunteer engagement, and marketing and communications roles. For the past 13 years, she has focused on youth development and after-school programming. In addition to building and growing an innovative model for youth development program that uses music and the arts to promote social-emotional development in gang-impacted settings in the Bay Area, Julie launched the Girl Scouts After-School Partnerships Program in 2018. Julie is extremely passionate about giving girls opportunities to develop an authentic voice, express themselves creatively, and learn to listen to their own unique vision for the path they want to follow in life. Julie holds a BA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley and an MA in International Development from American University.
