Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend is a weekend where Girl Scouts all over the country are visiting their local state parks on the same weekend. Participate in this national event by joining the Camp Menzies team for a campout at Big Trees State Park, just outside of Arnold, CA (and down the road from Camp Menzies). Take a journey through the ancient grove of Giant Sequoia and learn about the history of these magnificent trees through the lens of conservation, as well as their relationship to other living things in the mixed conifer forest habitat, ultimately discovering what makes these trees such a BIG deal! Spend the days exploring the park and completing activities and work towards earning your age level Outdoor Journey. Daisies through Juniors could earn all necessary badges leading up to the Take Action project in preparation for and at this event. Spend the evening hanging out at the group campsite where you'll perform skits and songs around the campfire and enjoy treats like s'mores and banana boats. Staff will be there to assist in the camping experience and lead activities. Campsite reservations, one bundle of wood, entry into the park, parking fees, staff-led activities, and a fun patch will be provided.
