Adults: Give Girl Scouts the opportunity to brave the outdoors and gain confidence while learning new skills! Don't miss our biggest outdoor event of the year, the Girl Scouts Outdoor Adventure Campout, at Lake Camanche in the Ione area.You can give girls the chance to discover their passions for the outdoors, help them put their outdoor skills to the test, and open girls' eyes to new adventures, all while they explore nature with their Girl Scout Sisters. This year, we estimate 1000 Girl Scouts and adult volunteers.

SUPERVISION NOTE: If you are attending OAC with your troop as the adult supervision, please do NOT sign up as an event volunteer as you will need to stay with your troop.
Additional Information:
- Most volunteers will assist our Horse partner by helping guide the girls as they learn how to take care of, ride and handle a horse.
- For folks with special skills or certifications, we are also looking for volunteers to support our beach party, archery, fishing, and nature related workshops.
- Let us know if you have any special skills in any of these categories when you apply for this volunteer role.

Qualifications:
- Comfortable around horses - no prior horse experience required! (for horse volunteers only)
- Friendly, helpful and positive disposition
- Passionate about encouraging girls to explore, learn and grow
- Excited about sharing love and respect for the outdoors with girls
- Can lift a minimum of 15 pounds
- Has experience working with children ages K-12
- Punctual, dependable, enthusiastic, flexible
- Must be 18 years old or older (exception for certified lifeguards)
- Must have transportation to and from the event at Lake Camanche in Ione, CA
Responsibilities:
- Help provide a safe space where participants can learn, grow and make memories
- Safely help girls handle horses
- Stand for long periods of time
General Location: Valley Springs, CA
Note: This event takes place in an outdoor setting.
