Brownie - Ambassador Troops: Experience ranch life with L&L Ranch on this troop focused, 5 days and 4 nights adventure! Campers will learn horsemanship skills from knowledgeable Wranglers, where Girl Scouts will ride horses twice a day, with one ride on arrival day, and discover what it is like living on a ranch-from milking cows to learning how to care for a horse. Campers will also get to engage in all the other joys of camp-s'mores, songs, activities, and more. Girls will ride at a variety of levels to build different skills, with some opportunities to try loping for those who are ready. Fees include lodging, meals, archery, fishing in our own private pond, equipment, a fun patch, and trained instructors.
Adult supervision from registered members is required. There is an additional fee for adults to ride horses (groups limited to one adult per ride). Additional fee of $40 per ride is paid on site to the program partner.
NOTICE: Your spot is not reserved until a payment is made. This includes participants requesting Financial Aid or Troop Treasure. We recommend paying the deposit to reserve your spot immediately.
Event Disclaimer: Participants must provide their own transportation to and from Quincy. This is a troop experience for Brownies - Ambassadors and adult volunteers.

Program Fee: $620 for girl members, $400 for adult members.

Essential Eligibility Criteria: GSHCC programs provide an inclusive environment to all girls. Please reference our general Essential Eligibility Criteria for details about classroom and outdoor-focused activities that will help you identify the skills needed to participate in programs successfully. This activity has additional Essential Eligibility Criteria, including: Each participant must be able to...Riders must be at least 6 years old. Independently mount & dismount a horse, or do so with little assistance from an employee. Rapidly dismount when directed to on short notice in any terrain in situations where a horse might be in distress and rapid dismount is necessary for the safety of the rider and horse. Assistance to remount may not be possible in such situations. Balance independently in the saddle while traveling over rugged steep mountainous terrain, and negotiating obstacles such as rocks, deadfall, and mud. Control the horse by giving it signals to stop, move, turn left or right, and calm down. This is typically accomplished through leg, hand and/or voice signals. Weigh under 220 pounds, due to the horse's carrying capacity. Sit upright for an extended period of time with legs stretched out in front of you. Manage all personal mobility independently, or with the assistance of a companion, who is not an instructor. Wear appropriate attire- including closed toed shoes and long pants. Registration: A minimum of 4 registered participants are required to hold this event. In the event that the minimum is not met, you will be notified before the event date, and a full refund will be processed.
Media Release Disclaimer: There may be photos or
video taken during this event. By registering for this event, you give
permission for GSHCC and GSHCC program partners to use photos/videos
of your girl to promote Girl Scouts. If you would like to opt out of
photographs/videos, please notify staff at event check-in.
Information Letter: Once you have registered you
can find the information letter at least 2 weeks before the event
date, by logging in to your My Account, go to My Events and select the
event. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the information letter
under Additional Documentation. An email will be sent out 1 week
before the scheduled event with the information letter for the event.

Financial Aid: Financial assistance is available to girls/adults that have current memberships with Girl Scouts Heart of Central California. Payee must submit the Financial Aid Request form after registering to finalize your request. You may still be responsible for a portion of the fees.
Cancellation Policy:
Once in a while, GSHCC may have to cancel an event. In the event that Girl Scouts Heart of Central California finds it necessary to cancel an activity or training, all troops/groups or individuals having submitted registrations and payments will receive a full refund.
Note:In the event of extenuating circumstances such as illnesses, deaths in the immediate family and other catastrophic events, GSHCC will consider refunds on a case-by-case basis.
